It prioritises truth, accuracy and maintaining public trust, and within those constraints, minimising possible offence.

August 2023: We have updated the handbook to take account of IPSO's revised guidance on sex and gender identity and some relevant recent cases. We'll be looking at ways to get this publication in front of more journalists and senior editors in the coming months.
