Gerard Kelly

Education specialist

Gerard has worked in education journalism for most of his career, latterly as editor of Times Higher Education and the Times Educational Supplement. He now runs a communications consultancy specialising in education.

“As a gay man, I’m concerned that gender ideology is undermining the rights and protections we fought for. As a former journalist, I’m appalled at how it’s used to stifle debate and silence women. And as someone who has been involved with the education sector for decades, I’m furious at the corrosive effect gender ideology is having on young people’s health, intellectual curiosity and wellbeing. That’s why I think sex matters.”
