SEEN in Schools
A network of UK school staff – including teachers, teaching assistants, administrative staff, other support staff and school governors – committed to promoting sex equality and equity in schools for under 18s, both state-maintained and independent. Formed in March 2024. Not affiliated with any school or academy trust nor any external group such as trade unions.
- Committed to the protected belief that biological sex is binary and immutable; that sex matters in everyday lives, including rights and needs in schools; and that sex must not be conflated with, or replaced by, the contested concepts of gender or gender identity.
- Focuses on highlighting unlawful sex discrimination, upholding sex-based rights and tackling stereotypes about women, men, boys, and girls.
- Encourages diversity within UK educators, strongly supporting fairness, tolerance and pluralism. Aims for harmonious workplaces despite different perspectives, achieved through open discussion and respectful dialogue.
Members are vigilant in their school roles in safeguarding children from indoctrination, radicalisation and iatrogenic harm from psychological as well as medical interventions that do not have a long-term evidence-based foundation.
