Sex Matters is a human-rights organisation.
We educate and empower people to:
- make sure that laws and policies are clear about sex
- understand and use the law to protect everyone’s rights
- speak up and use clear language.
In recent years, many people have been called “hateful” simply for making ordinary, everyday statements about what it means to be male or female. They are silenced and punished at work and at school, removed from social-media platforms, and have been arrested, questioned and prosecuted for communications offences.
Sex Matters was co-founded by Maya Forstater, whose landmark employment-tribunal case created the precedent that protects people from being discrimination against at work for saying that sex is real and sex matters.
